Croatia Forum is an annual conference held in Dubrovnik’s Hotel Palace that brings together political leaders from the Balkans to discuss mutual topics of interest. This year’s edition saw energy taking a front seat with Croatian President Ivo Josipovic opening a forum titled ‘European Energy Security’ with Croatian Foreign Minister Vesna Pusic on the panel.
”Energy transcends borders and therefore isolated national solutions struggle to provide adequate and long-term solutions. Moreover, energy issues are both economic and strategic issues. Therefore, the preservation and strengthening of European energy security actually lies in finding a balance between commercial and political interests.” Josipovic told those in attendance.
