Sorkočević Quartet From Dubrovnik Performed in Famous Bartokov Hall

Sorkočević Quartet from Dubrovnik performed in Budapest last Friday, in the Bartók National Concert Hall in Müpa Budapest, famous Hungarian Palace of Arts.

This art hosting is the result of the coming together of musicians from Dubrovnik with a descendant of the family Sorgo, a member of the Opera and String Quartet from Budapest on the initiative of Mrs. Katalin Frankovics, lady who promotes Croatian culture in Hungary.

The concert was also attended by former Croatian ambassador in Hungary as well as the newly elected Ambassador Mrs. Marina Sikora.

Among other significant pieces, Sorkočević Quartet performed works by Croatian composers Luka Sorkočević and Nena Ćorak.

In an interview for the Hungarian National Television before the concert, artistic director of the quartet Slobodan Begić presented the music of Dubrovnik and music institutions of the City of Dubrovnik.

Members of Sorkočević Quartet are Slobodan Begic, artistic director and violinist, Đive Kušelj, flute, Denis Ajduković, bass and Nena Ćorak, piano. She played on the original Boesendorf piano, used by the famous composer Bela Bartok himself.
