The Croatian sea with its turquoise blue color makes first place, followed by the historical centers of cities such as Dubrovnik, Split, Zadar and Šibenik. In third place is Croatian cuisine, which Parker calls ‘the perfect combination of Italian and Mediterranean flavor’. Croatian culture and the climate are next on the list as well as its natural beauty – which deserved number six on the list. Sailing, one of the best ways to see Croatia, came in at 7th place.
Parker points out the low prices in local restaurants, “Croatian prices are surprisingly reasonable – especially when compared to nearby European countries. It’s standard in Croatia is to offer rational pricing to tourists. You can enjoy a full meal in a beautiful restaurant by the sea for around 10 euros”.
Croatia became the first country in Europe to introduce the idea of commercial naturist (nudist) resorts, and this is Parker’s 9th reason why you should visit Croatia.
The lighthouses are listed at number 10, and last but not the least the 11th reason are the Croatian sunsets.
