Dubrovnik Summer Festival again this year gathered nearly 2,000 artists from all around the world who performed in 47 days from 10 July to 25 August at 17 different locations in the Renaissance city of Dubrovnik: 79 theater, music, ballet, folk, film and visual arts programs. The world-famous festival said their goodbyes to the audience with a gala concert performed by the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of maestro Ivo Lipanovic, with the world’s leading baritone Zeljko Lucic and soprano Lana Kos.
After the concert the Orlando award was given to Neva Rosic for the best performance at the Olympic games in the drama program and the Croatian Baroque Ensemble for musical achievement.
After the awards and the concert the Libertas flag was lowered from Orlando’s column. Opened flag was carried through the room by the Festival Folk Ensemble, with Poskocica of composer Delo Jusic performed by the Zagreb Philharmonic and the Folk Ensemble Lindo, and then through the area in front of St. Blaise church.
