Starting with the famous Wagner’s opera ‘Tristan and Isolde’, Dubrovnik Cinemas open a new season of live broadcasting from the world’s biggest opera house – the Metropolitan Opera in New York.
‘Tristan and Isolde’ will take place this Saturday at 6 pm.
Dubrovnik Cinemas are, once again, a part of a great ‘film family’ which counts more than 2 000 halls in 70 countries whose visitors – opera lovers – can not only enjoy the performances of the world’s greatest soloists, conductors and theater artists, but also have the ability to peek in unknown world that takes place backstage during the performance.
The season runs until May 2017, and will show 10 magnificent and exciting operas, four of which are new productions. In the 2016/2017 season, following operas will be broadcasted:
Mozart’s Don Giovanni and Idomeneo, Saariaho’s L’amour de loin, Verdi’s Nabucco and La Traviata, Gounod’s Romeo and Juliet, Dvorak’s Rusalka, Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin and Strauss’ Der Rosenkavalier.
