A Taste of Pelješac: Summer Evenings of Wine, Music and Local Flavours

A Summer Tradition Returns to Orebić

With the arrival of summer, Okusi Pelješca, one of the most recognisable seasonal events on the Pelješac peninsula, returns to Orebić. The programme will take place every Wednesday from 10 June to 16 September, offering visitors a chance to experience the peninsula through its flavours, wines and Mediterranean atmosphere. The event has been held since 2014 and has grown into one of the favourite summer gatherings for locals and visitors alike.

At the heart of the programme are Pelješac wines, local liqueurs and products made by family farms, accompanied by live music and a relaxed open-air setting. The local branch of the League Against Cancer will also take part, preparing sweet and savoury delicacies, with proceeds going to charity.

Wine, Local Products and a Dalmatian Atmosphere

For many visitors, Pelješac is already synonymous with excellent wine, especially the peninsula’s celebrated red varieties. Okusi Pelješca adds another layer to that experience by bringing together winemakers, local producers and musicians in an informal summer setting.

The event is designed as a feast for the senses: a glass of local wine, the scent of the sea, homemade delicacies and music that carries through the warm evening air. For travellers staying in Dubrovnik, it is also a lovely idea for a summer evening trip beyond the city walls.

New This Year: Fishermen’s Evenings

This year’s edition also brings something new. Four Fishermen’s Evenings will be held as part of the programme, with an additional offer of grilled sardines and a more traditional seaside feel. Two of these evenings will take place in new locations: on 22 July in Lovište, with a performance by Giuliano and Diktatori, and on 29 July in Trstenik, with Grupa Viva.

Additional Fishermen’s Evening editions are also listed in Orebić, including 15 July in Lučica with Grupa Naro and 12 August in Lučica with Grupa Marinero.

Sounds of Dalmatia Every Sunday

Alongside Okusi Pelješca, the summer also brings Zvuci Dalmacije, a programme of Sunday klapa evenings. Performances by Klapa Nava and Klapa Geta will bring traditional Dalmatian vocal music to Orebić, with the opening evening scheduled for Sunday at 8 pm at the Church of Nuncijata in Orebić.

For those looking for a slower, more authentic side of summer in southern Croatia, Pelješac offers exactly that: local flavours, music under the stars and the easy rhythm of a peninsula that knows how to enjoy the season.
