The Catholic Church in Croatia celebrates All Souls’ Day today, November 2nd. All Souls’ Day follows All Saints Day (November 1st), which is a public holiday in Croatia. The Vatican has officially celebrated the feast day which dedicated to the deceased since 1311. Families visit the graves of their former family members on All Souls’ Day, traditionally laying white chrysanthemums and lighting candles. Take a look at our photo gallery from the Boninovo Cemetry just outside Dubrovnik’s Old Town to see the almost eerie beauty of the graves covered in flowers and candles.
