Ana Konjuh Wins Orange Bowl Tournament

Dubrovnik tennis player Ana Konjuh has defeated Czech Katarina Siniakova in the final of the Orange Bowl tournament in Florida, USA.

The final score was 6:3, 6:2 making for a landslide victory for young Ana in what has proved to be a successful trip to the States. Last Sunday saw Ana scoop first prize at the Eddie Herr junior tournament also. Her victory at the Orange bowl tournament is significant as it is considered to be the most prestigious prize at junior level, after the grand slam tournaments.

Many consider the Orange Bowl victor to be the world’s junior unofficial no.1. Ana has jumped up the world rankings starting off the year at 860, last week finding herself in the top 10. Her victory at the Orange Bowl could now place her at no.4. Ana knocked out the official junior ladies’ no.1 in the semi final stage, American Taylor Townsend, 4:6, 6:1, 6:3.
