The third annual Marco Polo Challenge took place on Saturday, with 60 competitors from all over Croatia as well as abroad entering the triathlon.
The athletes swam, cycled and ran their way to the finish line. The Olympic triathlon consisted of a 1500m swim, 40Km bike ride and a 10 km run. Taking forst place in the male race was Peter Bajai with Dejan Patričveić and Andrej Vištica taking second and third place.
Marina Miković took first prize for the women with Maja Bonačić and Martina Ilijanić in second and third place behind her.In the sprint triathlon the Split based team ‘Untouchables’ took first place.
The day wasn’t just about the professionals either, with children from local primary schools given the chance to take part in a junior triathlon and a 10 km street race too.
