BBC’s 5 Curious Facts About Croatia

BBC Travel in partnership with Lonely Planet Traveller have published an article titled ‘Five Curious Facts About Croatia’ which features Dubrovnik.

Among the five facts are:

”From 1358 until its capture by Napoleon in 1808, the walled city of Dubrovnik was the centre of a city-state known as the Republic of Ragusa. Despite its small size, it was a trading power and became a centre of learning and culture during the Renaissance.”

The article informs readers of the history of the cravat and Croatian wine as well as the country’s currency. Of the five photographs featured, three are of Dubrovnik- a real testament to the Old Town’s beauty and appeal.
