All the preparations are in place for the start of filming for the third and final TV series, Borgia. The TV shows production crew arrived in Dubrovnik just after the New Year with filming taking place across the Old Town, island of Lokrum, Lovrijenac fortress and Trsteno arboretum.
Many parts of the Old Town have been transformed, most notably the Sponza Palace and Cathedral. Borgia’s production team visited Dubrovnik before Christmas to host auditions for extras, of which around 800 are expected to be used. The choice of Dubrovnik as a filming location once again will no doubt add to the city’s popularity, as seen with Game of Thrones which has now filmed two years running in Dubrovnik.
