British and American Visitors Lead Dubrovnik’s Early Season Numbers

A Steady Start to the Season

Dubrovnik is entering the main part of the 2026 tourist season with stable early numbers and a familiar mix of international guests.

According to preliminary eVisitor data, the city recorded a slight increase in arrivals compared with the same period last year, while overnight stays remained almost at the same level. The figures suggest that Dubrovnik’s early season is holding steady, with the United Kingdom and the United States once again among the city’s strongest tourism markets.

UK and US Visitors at the Top

Visitors from the United Kingdom and the United States continue to play a leading role in Dubrovnik’s tourism picture. They are followed by guests from France, Poland, Germany, Ireland, Canada, Spain, Finland and Croatia.

On 11 May, Dubrovnik recorded 4,415 tourist arrivals and 14,198 overnight stays in a single day. Cumulative figures from 1 January to 11 May show 231,870 arrivals, which is one percent more than in the same period last year, while overnight stays reached 667,234.

A City That Stays High on the Travel List

The data confirms what can already be felt in the streets, restaurants and hotels: Dubrovnik has entered the season with strong international interest. The city remains especially popular among British and American travellers, while Poland is also standing out as one of the increasingly important markets.

From direct flights and cruise arrivals to city-break visitors and longer Adriatic stays, Dubrovnik continues to attract guests looking for a mix of heritage, sea views, island trips, gastronomy and Mediterranean atmosphere.

Preliminary Figures, Positive Direction

The latest numbers are still preliminary and may be updated as new entries are processed through the eVisitor system. Still, the early picture points to a stable and confident start to the season.

For Dubrovnik, that means another busy summer is already taking shape, with British and American guests once again helping set the rhythm of the city’s tourist year.
