Children’s Ward in Dubrovnik General Hospital received 10,000 dollars

Ivica Glavinić gave the hospital manager, Branko Bazdan, a check in the amount of 10,000 American Dollars for the Children’s Ward.

It is a donation from Croatian American Charitable Foundation from Long Island, where Glavinić is a secretary, and the check has been given to the Children’s Ward for the third year in a row.

– These regular donations are well spent. The funds go into decoration, that is, reconstruction of the ward or into the equipment, said Bazdan, adding the money will most probably be used in changing parts of windows and doors in the ward.

Ivica Glavinić, the Foundation Secretary emphasised it is an Association that has been active in the States for 10 years. Two times a year they organise a golf tournament and collect donations.

– Three years ago we started our cooperation with General Hospital Dubrovnik and are always trying to help children. For example, we give UNICEF 10,000 dollars as well. We are helping both American and Croatian organisations, concluded Glavinić.

Dubrovnik General Hospital expressed their gratitude by awarding the Association with a silver coin bearing the image of famous karaka, a galleon originating in Dubrovnik.
