Croatia’s historic EU accession was marked with parties all over Croatia and an official ceremony attended by dignitaries in Zagreb on June 30th. Dubrovnik celebrated with free concerts and fireworks while at the border with Montenegro, police customs officials had their own ceremony marking the moment of EU entry. The flag of the European Union was officially raised by uniformed officers who also honoured the historic day with the revealing of a road sign notifying people that they are entering an EU country upon crossing the border from Montenegro.
