Croatia Wins Big on Big Game Trolling in Acapulco

Hrvoje Pinčević from Dubrovnik participated in the 25th World Championship in Big Game Trolling held in Acapulco, Mexico, from 5th to 12th November.

Not just participated, but achieved an excellent result with his Croatian B team on this competition!

‘There were to teams from Croatia in Acapulco with the coach Saša Rakar. Our B team was led by captain Bruno Dragičević, there were Dražen Horvat and Gordon Gicvorcinović, with me’, says Hrvoje, describing the amazing three fishing days.

‘Our team B on the first day exceeded all expectations. We had a great catch with five fish caught – two striped marlins and three sailfish, fish that placed us in the high second place’, he continues, ‘and after all three days, we were at the high 4th place among 28 crews. Croatia is overall placed 3rd, after two Mexican teams’.

‘Given that the hosts, who have won the first two places, have a lot of experience in this method of fishing, as well as the affection of judges, we are very pleased with our placement in the championship’, Hrvoje adds.

-I’m delighted by this success because we have really made a great result considering that this type of fishing is quite strange in Croatia. I’m going back to a classic big game fishing, which we practice, but certainly I will continue practicing in trolling, since we’re going to the World Cup next year!’ concludes Hrvoje.
