Croatian tennis player Marin Cilic won the Grand Slam U.S. Open!

After Iva Majoli in 1997 and Goran Ivanisevic in 2001, Marin Cilic became the third Croat with the Grand Slam title. Today he won the finals over Japanese player Kei Nishikori, and won the prize of three million dollars. After this tournament Marin will become the ninth best tennis player in the world on ATP list.
For an hour and 53 minutes Cilic played for victory in a smooth game of 6:3 6:3 6:3 in gems, defeating Japanese player Keija Nishikorija.
´This was all I ever dreamed of. It was an evidence for the statement that who ever works hard would be paid for its efforts one day. I enjoyed and played the best tennis of my career´, said Cilic before lifting trophies up.
He and his coach Goran Ivanisevic celebrated together with Cilic´s brother and girlfriend, the beautiful Kristina Milkovic from Cavtat. His victory is being celebrated throughout Croatia, and certainly the loudest celebration was in Međugorje, Bosnia and Herzegovina, where Marin was born and raised.
