Dubrovnik Christmas Reception Held in London

A traditional Christmas reception was held at the Croatian Embassy in London, organized jointly by the Dubrovnik Tourist Board and the City of Dubrovnik, in cooperation with the Croatian Tourist Board Representation in London and the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia.

Seventy guests, tourist agents and journalists, as well as many London and Croatia representatives, attended the Dubrovnik reception. Croatian specialties and homemade wines were served, prepared by the British company Taste Croatia for this occasion, importing Croatian products into this market.

Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia in the UK, Igor Pokaz, emphasized the importance of Dubrovnik as a popular destination for the British vacation, noting that he could personally recommend Dubrovnik for vacation where he has been spending his holidays for years.

Deputy mayor of Dubrovnik, Jelka Tepšić thanked British tourists for their loyalty to Dubrovnik, noting that Dubrovnik is a highly successful tourist destination, faced with great challenges as well, and the city administration has undertaken activities aimed at better organization of cruise ships’ joining and new measures in connection with the project Respect the City.

Director of the Dubrovnik Tourist Board, Romana Vlašić, noted the importance of the British tourism market for Dubrovnik and added that the British tourists are traditionally ranked first among the most numerous visitors to Dubrovnik, with the invitation to visit Dubrovnik during the winter months as well in the holiday atmosphere of the Dubrovnik Winter Festival.She talked about the success of Dubrovnik, the extension of the tourist season, the record tourism, with a large part of British guests in total achievements, expressing the expectation that links between Dubrovnik and London will continue to increase and that the number of British tourists will continue to grow on announcements of an increase in the number of flights from Great Britain.
