Croatia’s Newest Festival: Dubrovnik FestiWine 2014

More than 50 winemakers will be displaying their wines at the first regional wine festival, Dubrovnik FestiWine 2014, from 24th to 26th of April.

The festival will be held in the Dubrovnik’s historical Klarisa atrium built in the 13th century. Tourists who find themselves in Dubrovnik at that time will have the opportunity to taste the finest wines from this region and to learn more about the history of Dubrovnik.

Although the wine exhibition and tasting will definitely be the most important parts of the festival, visitors will also be able to enjoy the interesting wine competition Dubrovnik FestiWine Trophy, or even to participate in a workshop, ‘It’s wine o’clock’.

The aim of this festival is to improve the position local wines have in the current tourism offer as well as to re-establish Dubrovnik as “City, a friend of wine”. That’s why in the week before this festival dozens of Dubrovnik restaurants will work on contributing to the Dubrovnik Wine Week. Visitors of the city will be served the finest wines and special dishes at special prices under the ‘Wine Friendly’ label.

Dubrovnik-Neretva County development agency DUNEA, in cooperation with Dubrovnik PartneR agency are the organisers of this first regional wine festival.
