This year, the leading magazine for business tourism and meetings industry ‘Kongres Magazine’ published the prestigious list of the best congress destinations in Central and Southeast Europe called ‘Meeting Experience Index 2021’, within which Dubrovnik was named the best congress destination in the category of up to 1200 participants. This success is complemented by the Croatian congress destinations Split, Opatija, Rovinj and Šibenik, which are included among the best destinations in the same category.
The Dubrovnik Tourist Board emphasizes that the proclamation of Dubrovnik as the best congress destination is also a great reward for all the people working in business tourism. As they say, this prestigious recognition is a confirmation of the high-quality offer in Dubrovnik, which was successfully maintained despite the difficult circumstances and limitations in the time of the global pandemic.
The first major international gathering in Dubrovnik this year was held in June, and it was the ASTA conference attended by 150 American travel agents, which sent strong messages about the recovery of the organization of business events. Until the end of the year, numerous conferences, corporate events, and professional gatherings will be held in Dubrovnik, while next October we expect the M&I Forum for professionals in the congress industry.
The list of the best congress destinations is based on a complex evaluation system and in-depth analysis of key segments of the business travel industry and includes as many as 75 evaluation criteria.
