Tuesday night saw the first concert take place as part of the Dubrovnik Late Summer Festival. The concert at the Rector’s Palace marked the 60th anniversary of the first performance of an Austrian conductor with the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra. On this occasion, the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra was under the baton of recognized Austrian conductor Christoph Campestrini. During the Beethoven’s Fifth Piano Concerto soloist James Dick from the U.S. performed. Despite the rain in the second part of the concert Symphony no. 39 by W.A. Mozart was performed much to the audience’s delight.
