Croatian National Tourist Board represented our country’s tourist offer at the tourism fair CIMT 2014 organized in Shanghai. Dubrovnik Tourist Board and the agency Gulliver Travel joined in representing their offer. Presentations were accepted with great interest among Chinese visitors, whose number in visits to Croatia has made a great turnover in the recent years.
Namely, the number of Chinese tourists who have visited Dubrovnik has increased since last year. Chinese tourists had been present throughout the year. Since the beginning of the year until mid-November Dubrovnik was visited by 8218 Chinese tourists, which shows an increase of 52 %, compared to last year. They had 15,398 overnight stays or 47% more than in 2013. That is why this fair and its presentations will certainly contribute to better promotion of Dubrovnik in China, whose citizens, around 54.1 million of them,
travel during the whole year.
According to reports from Dubrovnik Tourist Board, this was the 16th consecutive year that Shanghai has been hosting this fair, located in five huge halls covering 57,500 m2, with 2,200 stalls, and exhibitors which arrive from hundreds of world destinations.
On the very first day of the fair Dubrovnik´s stand was visited by approximately thousand visitors, including Chinese agents and media representatives who have expressed great interest in our city. This is the first time that the Dubrovnik Tourist offer was represented at this fair and in China, which is one of the fastest growing markets in the world.
