This summer’s sporting stars who represented Croatia at the Olympic and Paralympic Games in London attended a reception hosted by Croatian President Ivo Josipović in Zagreb on Monday.
Amongst them were local sporting stars including Paralympic swimmer Mihovil Španja and seven members of the Croatian water polo team who took gold, together with their assistant trainer, Elvis Fatović.
President Josipović handed out recognition awards to the sports stars on Croatia’s Independence Day, awarding recently retired water polo team trainer, Ratko Rudić, with the Order of Duke Branimir for his success with the team in London.
