Dubrovnik Tourist Board director, Romana Vlasic, attended the Convent Trade Show in Ljubljana this week where she accepted the Kongres Magazin’s Meeting Star Award 2013, on behalf of the city of Dubrovnik.
Up against stiff competition including Prague and Budapest, Dubrovnik was one of 34 shortlisted candidates for the award which recognises excellent results in congress tourism in central and South Eastern Europe. The editorial team at Kongres Magazin prepared the shortlist, selecting the best destinations that met their criteria of natural and cultural factors, general and transport infrastructure, tourism infrastructure and congress infrastructure. The award places Dubrovnik as one of the top 3 congress tourism destinations in the region and recognises individuals and businesses that stand out with their creativity and knowledge, but also measurable achievements in the congress industry.
Hotel Dubrovnik Palace received recognition for the second year running, awarded the prize for best hotel in the Premium Resort Meeting Hotel category. Radisson Blue was also acknowledged at the awards ceremony as one of the top ten resort meeting hotels in the region.
