Saturday saw the Early Music Festival open with a concert by British musicians Catherine Mackintosh and Geoffrey Govier, known as Duo Amade.
The Early Music Festival, now in its ninth year, brings rarely played music and instruments often only seen in paintings to its Dubrovnik audience. Duo Amade formed in the 1980’s with Catherine Mackintosh on violin and Geoffrey Govier on piano. Their concert last night at the Public Library in Dubrovnik’s Old Town brought Mozart’s sonatas to life.
The Festival runs for three days with Sunday’s performance by British-Indian group, Trio Radial. Tonight’s concert by the Croatian ensemble Responsorium will close the three day festival with performances of Tomas Cecchini’s work published in Venice in the year 1612.
