Eddie Izzard Thrills Dubrovnik

Eddie Izzard became the first foreign comedian to perform a stand up show in Dubrovnik on Friday night. As well as setting a new personal record, Izzard thrilled the audience made up of mostly locals and a handful of tourists with his observational satire as part of his Force Majeur World Tour.

Izzard took to the stage in high heeled boots and perfectly manicured nails at the Marin Držić Theatre a little after 8 pm and performed for an impressive two hours. The range of subject matter was vast from the recent appointment of the new Pope to the Tour de France, Lord Of The Rings and fascist plumbers (a.k.a The Romans). The potential language barrier  proved to be no problem with the audience in stitches at his observations on religion and politics.

Following the show Izzard met with fans backstage to sign autographs before heading off to Split and then Zagreb for the next dates in his tour. If you’re in Croatia and would like to see one of the greatest stand-up comedians of all time then you can. Eddie will be performing at the Croatian National Theatre in Osijek on Tuesday 26th March, tickets can be purchased at www.ulaznice.hr .
