Hey, dear readers, it is that time of the year – the New Year’s Eve. This Year, the programme in Dubrovnik is rich and interesting, with regional musicians, great events for children, interesting gastronomical offer…
First of all, our New Years’ Programme starts tonight, and on this Friday night, from 8 pm, you can enjoy two great Croatian musicians – Petar Grašo, famous for his great love songs, and Opća Opasnost, Croatian hard rock band. Concert will take place in front of the St. Blaise Church.
Tomorrow, on the last day of 2016, in the morning, on the same place, vocal group Ragusa will perform at 10.30 am, and at 11. 55 am, there will be traditional carols, mayors Andro Vlahušić’ speech, performance by Folklore ensemble Linđo, Dubrovnik’s choir Libertas and Dubrovnik Brass Band, with cocktails.
At noon starts the programme for youngest – Children’s New Year’s Eve! Jole, one of the most popular regional singers, will join kids long with the Dance studio Lazareti to have some fun!
The most important event starts at 9.30 pm – New Year programme will include Jole, Doris Dragović, and DJ Kameny.
If you are more into rock and hard rock, pay a visit to Lapad Bay on the last day of 2016. From 6 pm, local bands will perform charity concert until 1 am.
The programme continues on the first day of 2017. with New Year’s concert with oysters and champagne, performed by Dubrovnik Symphony orchestra and noon, and later, new Year’s race – DuRun10K at 2.30 pm.
Don’t worry about the transportation to the Old Town – Public Transportation is free all the time after 5 pm, until early hours of January 1st. Don’t forget that the road around the Old Town will be closed from 8 pm December 31st until 5 am January 1st, and the ban includes Zagrebacka, Petar Kresimir IV., Frana Supila, behind the City of Dubrovnik and the Branitelja Dubrovnika, and only the vehicles with permission and public transportation will be able to pass.
Parking in the Dubrovnik port will be free from 7 pm on December 31st until 7 am on January 1st, so leave your car and then catch a free bus to the Old Town!
One more tip: festive wooden houses along Stradun will work all the time during the New Year Eve celebration, and on the January 1st, they will work from 11 am until midnight.
