Experience Croatian Christmas In Strasbourg

Visitors to the Strasbourg Christmas markets are able to enjoy a taste of Croatia thanks to the start of Croatian Week. The official opening of events was held at the Saint Pierre-le-Vieux Church in the city and was attended by the Croatian Ambassador to Austria among other dignitaries.

The project has been organised by the Croatian delegation at the European Council and brings together small businesses as well as artists from Croatia to present their produce and talents. At the Croatian Christmas Village small business from the Dubrovnik region presented the local food and drink offer. The Peljesac peninsula near Dubrovnik is perhaps best known for its delicious wines and of those, Plavac Mali is the favourite of many. Also presented were olive oils from the region and sweets and cakes.

Celebrated pianist Marko Gasparovic who works and lives in Paris will perform a concert as part of the series of events as well as a Christmas carol concert by young singers from Varazdin.

December the 19th and 20th will see Dubrovnik Guitar Trio perform at the stunning Notre Dame Cathedral in Strasbourg so if you’re around be sure not to miss it! For more information click here.
