Karate club Kakato from Dubrovnik participated in the international tournament Ploce Open. 43 clubs from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Croatia with a total of about 500 participants took part at the tournament.
Dubrovnik team, which has accomplished remarkable results, was under supervision of coach Zeljo Perkovic. He was extremely delighted with their results. Namely, great results and two first places were won by Iva Ursic, in the category of younger cadets -54 kg (12-14) and female cadets – 54 kg (up to 16 years). This successful athlete will also represent Croatia at The international competition in Sofia.
Additionally, Karla Strazicic reached first place in the category of younger cadets +54 kg, while the equally good Mia Lazo took second place in the category of younger cadets -54 kg. The lead in finals was taken by her club colleague, Iva Ursic.
The youngest among them, Marija Mozara, won first place in the category of students (10-12 years) -44 kg.
Also, the at international tournament Ploce Open debutants in kata category performed their skills. Those were: Laura Kopic, Laura Kmetovic, Laura Martinovic, Peter Savic and Josip Martinovic.
