This February, our City transforms into a movie sat yet again. This time, the team of the American television series ‘Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan’ stepped on the scene, with the main character being played by 44-year-old John Krasinski – actor, screenwriter, and director, best known to the public as one of the stars of the ‘Office’ series.
We captured the scenes of the fourth season of the Amazon Prime Video action hit, which premiered on August 31, 2018. The plot follows Dr. Jack Ryan, a veteran Marine and financial analyst who works for the Central Intelligence Agency – CIA. The story is based on characters from the fictional ‘Ryanverse’ created by Tom Clancy and is made by the author duo – Carlton Cuse and Graham Roland Dubrovnik viewers previously known for ABC’s ‘Lost’.
In the past few days, the filming of this American TV series took place in Pile and below the cable car. The film crew was also busy around the City walls, more precisely at the bastion of St. Margarita, on City roofs, in front of the Cathedral, in the neighbourhood of Karmen and Buža street. According to the information from the set Krasinski was joined in Dubrovnik by other famous actors such as Michael Peña and Michael Kelly, and it is speculated that that the popular Swedish actress Roomi Rapace has also arrived to the City.
‘Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan’ has been filmed in several locations so far, including Washington, Paris, London, Moscow, Bogota and Colombia. In February 2022, it was Dubrovnik’s turn, which in recent years interpreted the fictional King’s Landing in ‘Game of Thrones’, Canto Bight in ‘Star Wars’, the historic Acre in ‘The Fall of the Templars’ and ‘Robin Hood’s’ Nottingham.
In 2019, the series was awarded the ‘Location Managers Guild’ award for filming at exceptional locations, and after choosing Dubrovnik, it is quite clear that our guests intend to repeat that success.
