Hollywood actor John Malkovich, one of the world’s most respected performers and an artist of Croatian heritage, is the central figure of a new promotional video by the Croatian National Tourist Board.
Known for his roles in films such as Dangerous Liaisons, In the Line of Fire and Being John Malkovich, Malkovich is a two-time Academy Award nominee, an Emmy Award winner and the recipient of numerous other international accolades.
A collaboration with Pete Radovich
The new video also brings together another internationally recognised name of Croatian roots. Pete Radovich, the celebrated television and sports producer and winner of 45 Emmy Awards across 18 different categories, served as the creative director of the project.
Radovich’s involvement, as well as his long-standing professional relationship with Malkovich, played an important role in bringing the actor into the campaign.
This marks the fourth collaboration between Malkovich and Radovich. Their previous joint projects have received a series of prestigious honours in the television and marketing industries, including five Emmy Awards, five Cannes Lions and eight Clio Awards.
Croatia through a global lens
The Croatian National Tourist Board’s new promotional film is expected to mark another step forward in presenting Croatia as an attractive, authentic and globally recognisable tourist destination.
Filming took place at numerous locations across the country, bringing together Croatia’s landscapes, atmosphere and identity in a campaign designed for international audiences. During his time in Croatia, Malkovich was also seen walking through Dubrovnik, a city whose cinematic streets naturally fit the atmosphere of the new campaign.
Premiere ahead of the World Cup
A teaser for the new promotional video is already available via the Croatian National Tourist Board’s link, while the premiere and release of the full film across all markets is planned shortly before the start of the FIFA World Cup.
The campaign will place a special focus on the American market, where the tournament will be held.
