Dubrovnik’s Jug water polo players were victorious in their home match against Belgrade’s Crvena Zvezda on Wednesday night 2:2, 3:2, 3:0, 2:1.
The tenth round match of the Euroleague competition was played at the Gruž swimming pool in Dubrovnik and at the final whistle the score was 10:5 to the home team. Jug’s Montenegrin star, Aleksandar Ivović, gave five of the team’s 10 goals.
This was the return match following Jug’s victory over Crvena Zvezda in Belgrade, with a final score of 10:6. Crvena Zvezda’s players arrived in Dubrovnik hopeful of revenge for their home loss. Last night’s victory takes Jug to the top of the leader board in their group.
Sunday will see the local derby between Jug and Primorje where Jug will certainly be hoping for a repeat performance.
