Ana Konjuh reached the Wimbledon final!

Young tennis player from Dubrovnik, Ana Konjuh, reached the Wimbledon junior girls’ final. She was paired with young Belinda Benčić from Switzerland. The pair beat the Russian-Ukrainian combination of Gavrilova-Svitolina during the semi-final match for a 2-1 lead (5-7, 6-3, 6-1).

This was a first time for a 14-year-old to experience Wimbledon and Grand Slam. Will the semi-finalists from Croatia and Switzerland win at Wimbledon, we will find out tomorrow in their final match against Eugenie Bouchard from Canada and Taylor Townsend from United States.

Ana Konjuh has performed well during the junior single championship; she was defeated in the quarterfinals by Kontaveit of Estonia due to a shoulder injury and fatigue. (0-6, 4-6).
