Dubrovnik Carnival Fest will bring out the joy to all children, residents, and our guests! At recent press conference, organizers introduced interesting cultural, musical and sporting events – themed exhibitions, concerts, circus programs, naval regatta, Ball, operetta, pop music festival and specially designed program for children.
This year program’s news is themed cultural and musical programs which connect Dubrovnik and its ” friends cities” – first in the series is the city of Sarajevo and its opening manifestation.
It all starts at February 1st, when the exhibition “Sarajevo, Dubrovnik, Lasting frendship” will be opened in the Luža gallery space. Works of famous artists from Sarajevo will be presented.
A concert “Operetta mix masquerade,” will be held at February 6th at Marin Držić Theatre. Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra, soprano Lidija Horvat Dunjko, mezzo-soprano Blanka Tkalčić, tenor Goran von Karkin and baritone Ronald Braus will bring out the carnival joy, conducted by Maestro Vladimir Kranjčević.
A day later, at February 7th, Pop Music Festival will be held, with the participation of Teresa Kesovija, Iva Amulić, Buca Pende, klapas Mistral, Ragusa, Mareta, Ragusavecchia, Kaše, and the special guest of the evening – famous singer Hari Mata Hari.
Very interesting part of the carnival Fest is the „Carnival Regatta“, on repertoire at February 8th, and it will hold 18 crews from Dubrovnik, Kotor, Split, Rijeka and Sarajevo.
Residents and guests will be entertained at Stradun by the Albanian national circus acrobats with an attractive program for children and adults!
Together with them, girls in the ballet department of Art School Luka Sorkočević , dancers from the Lazareti studio, “Step & Jazz” dance performers, dancers from the Dance and recreation studies Dubrovnik and Dance studio 3V will also perform.
Saturday evening is reserved for the “Captain’s masquerade ball”.
Dubrovnik Carnival Fest ends at Sunday with great Gastro cocktail and farewell parade of Albanian acrobats from their national circus.
