Johny The Boss, Dubrovnik’s most famous cat and a true city star, has found his voice — and started singing. In the latest episode of the popular social media series, which is attracting a growing audience, the city’s favourite feline is no longer just an observer and ruler of its stone streets, but now also the voice of Dubrovnik.
As the episode description, The Boss Has a Voice, puts it, the city has not merely changed — it has found its rhythm. And this time, Johny is not standing on the sidelines. He performs the song Dubrovnik State of Mind, presented as a kind of statement and a reminder that, no matter who arrives, who passes through, or who believes they belong to the City, it is still The Boss who sets the rhythm.
To recap, Johny The Boss is the name of both a Dubrovnik cat and an Instagram profile followed by nearly 17,000 people, and he has long since become a genuine attraction of the city. Tourists search for him in the streets of Dubrovnik, hoping to get a photograph with him, while locals know him well as the “ruler” of the Jesuit Stairs, Stradun and the surrounding alleyways.
Johny is no stranger beyond Dubrovnik either. He has been featured in Croatian media and even appeared in the book Cats of the World, proving that his fame has long outgrown the city walls. Now, however, it seems he has taken on yet another role — that of a music star.
The series about this famous cat has already captured the attention of followers in earlier episodes. In the first instalments, Johny introduced himself to the audience, revealed his feline circle of friends, female companions and rivals, searched for coffee and tried to cope with the south wind, while viewers also got to know other Dubrovnik cats through his adventures. Now, he has taken things one step further.
Behind the series about Johny The Boss’s adventures is a team that has turned his city story into entertaining and distinctive content. The idea was created by Zvonimir Bašica, with camera work by Barbara Vlahović and Tanja Ribarska, while Mateo Curić was responsible for drone footage, AI prompt engineering and editing. The production is signed by VSPVIDEO, while the director’s chair was, quite naturally, taken by Johny The Boss himself.
