Pelješac Bridge: A Running Spectacle at Sunset

“Running across Pelješac Bridge at dusk is a fantastic experience! We missed the first opportunity, but this time we couldn’t pass it up. It’s something everyone should experience!” These are the comments from some of the participants in the second edition of the Race Across Pelješac Bridge.

A total of 322 runners seized the new opportunity and completed the 5.5-kilometer course, starting from the Blaca rest area, reaching the Komarna rest area, and returning, crossing the magnificent symbol of Croatian connectivity and one of the largest bridges in Europe.

Leo Zlokić achieved the best time in the men’s category (20:05), while Lukrecija Krstičević excelled in the women’s category (22:26). Both of them improved their times compared to the previous race, setting new course records.

“The interest in the race was exceptionally high once again, and all available spots were quickly filled. What particularly delights us is the fact that the majority of participants are local runners from the Dubrovnik-Neretva County. Thanks to our partnership with the Croatian Roads, this race will continue to be held in this time frame in the upcoming years, just before the Statehood Day, emphasizing the importance of connecting the southernmost region with the rest of the country,” said Alen Bošković, the director of Du Motion.

The enthusiasm of the participants before and after the race is yet another indicator of how well-received it is within the running community, guaranteeing even greater demand for it in the future.
