Organized by the Dubrovnik Tourist Board, the Dubrovnik Flower Market event will be held in Dubrovnik from the 8th to the 10th of April. Flower market started this morning with Flower Fair on the promenade of Uvala Lapad.
Another flower fair will be held on Saturday, the 9th of April, in the Lujo Šoletić Park in Gruž from 7.30am to 4pm.
On the second day of the event, a ‘Plant Surgery’ will be organized in Gruž (Lujo Šoletić Park) from 9am to 1pm, where all visitors will be able to consult on plant health and protection with professional staff.
Open days in flower shops for all lovers of flowers and gardening with a special offer, a rich selection of seedlings of flowers, vegetables and herbs will be organized on Friday the 8th and Sunday the 9th and Saturday the 10th of April, in the stores Ankora d.o.o. in Zaton and Gruž, Cvjećarnica Cvijet by Kike, Cvjećarnica Patrea and the Vrtlar stand on Pile.
A guided tour ‘Dubrovnik Gardens’ by Vesna Barišić, who will explain to visitors what the Dubrovnik gardens looked like, along with the traditional plants and fruits such as the bitter orange and pomegranate, will be held this Friday @ 4pm, on Saturday @ 2pm, and on Sunday @10 am. The meeting point is in front of the Tourist Board Centre on Pile.
On the last day of the event, on Sunday, the 10th of April, a workshop on picking and preparing wild plants on Lopud will be organized by Jadranka Ničetić and Katija Živković who will guide visitors through the harvest and the preparation and tasting of herbs in the Mandrač restaurant on Lopud.
The registration fee is 75 Kuna, and includes coffee, lemonade, a piece of cake, a printed brochure and a workshop for preparing dishes from picked herbs. Transportation is not organized, and the regular ferry line to Lopud, on Sunday leaves the Port of Gruž at 9.30am, and returns from the island of Lopud at 6.15pm.
