Tradition and people

Photo Gallery: White Doves, Traditional Costumes, People Honoring Our Patron, St. Blaise

With the beautiful white doves flying, set free, and the lifting up of flag to honor our patron saint, St. Blaise, Dubrovnik’s most important festivity is opened for the 1045th time.

Smiling people, traditional flags of the parishes of Dubrovnik and our county, Laus – traditional text for opening the Candle Mass ceremonial, flags, folk costumes, prelates, the secular city leaders, diplomats and politicians, throat blessing, majestic procession of believers… All of that makes Festa incredible event, so important it is even on the UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Candle Mass day will continue with the Celebratory Evening Mass and Concert @ 5:30 pm in the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and Candle Mass Dinner in Fort Revelin @ 7 pm.
