In a major move, Ryanair is opening a base in Dubrovnik with two ‘Gamechanger’ Boeing 8-200 aircraft, making it the third Ryanair base in Croatia after Zagreb and Zadar. The destinations cover popular European cities such as Dublin, London (Stansted), Rome (Fiumicino), Vienna, Stockholm (Arlanda), and more.
Viktor Šober, the Director of Dubrovnik Airport, highlighted the sustainability aspect, with 40% less noise from the new based aircraft. Jason McGuinness, Ryanair’s Commercial Director, expressed the airline’s pleasure in establishing a summer base in Dubrovnik, emphasizing the environmental benefits of their ‘Gamechanger’ Boeing 8-200 aircraft.
To celebrate the new summer base, Ryanair is offering one-way ticket prices starting from €29.99, exclusively available on the Ryanair app/website.
Dubrovnik Mayor Mato Franković applauded the efforts of Dubrovnik Airport’s management for securing Ryanair’s presence, foreseeing a positive impact on tourism and winter travel in the region.
This strategic move positions Dubrovnik as an accessible hub for European travel, providing cost-effective options for both locals and tourists. Stay tuned for further developments as negotiations with Croatia Airlines and non-EU destinations progress.
