SIMPLY THE BEST: Lidija Begić Wins the Best Tourist Guide Award at the Days of Croatian Tourism

The annual Croatian Tourism Awards were presented this Friday at the Sheraton Hotel in Župa Dubrovačka as the cherry on top of this year’s Days of Croatian Tourism, this time organized in the very south of our beautiful country. The awards were given in twenty-one categories, special awards for exceptional contribution to tourism in 2021, the annual ‘Antun Štifanić’ award and the Lifetime Achievement Award.

The best tourist guide in Croatia is our Lidija Begić from Dubrovnik and the best agency employee is Ines Poljak Aritonović as the director of an agency from Kašina.

Many diligent people received numerous awards for their hard work. Hrvoje Anić is the best employee in the field of marketing, while Ana Maričić from the Valamar Hotel in Makarska won the best animator.
Mira Fabo from Valamar on Rab was awarded as a receptionist, Anđelko Duvančić from Trogir as the best waiter and Snježana Jokić is the best cook. Ana Bilic from the Sheraton Hotel in Srebreno is the best housekeeper supervisor.

Zoran Škoro from Crikvenica is the best policeman, the best firefighter is Dino Kozlevac from Istria, Aleks Banić the best employee in maritime transport, Marija Budeš from Zadar Airport was awarded as best employee in air transport, while Dragan Koruga was awarded as an employee in road transport.

Days of Croatian Tourism is a traditional meeting of all workers in the tourism sector of the Republic of Croatia, organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, the Croatian Tourist Board and the Croatian Radio and Television.

This year’s Days of Croatian Tourism were opened in Župa Dubrovačka with a panel discussion “From the new normal to normal – what global trends in travel will stay for good? What will change?” Representatives of the leading global tourism companies TUI Nordic, easyJet Holidays, Expedia and Atlantica Hotels & Resorts spoke about new and current tourist trends in the circumstances of the global pandemic and the achieved results, especially mentioning Croatia as one of the most successful European tourist destinations.

Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and his associates spent time in Dubrovnik during this important manifestation pointing out how the results of this year’s tourist season were above all expectations. He congratulated everyone working in the tourism sector and praised their work, especially mentioning their diligent holding to all epidemiological measures.
