Slovenian Folk Songs in Front of the St. Blaise Church

This Saturday, on April 29th, in front of the St. Blaise Church, Cultural and Educational Society ‘Bazovica’ will perform Slovenian folk songs and dances in traditional costumes. This event is organized by Tourist Board of Dubrovnik and Slovene Cultural Society ‘Lipa’.

The ‘Bazovica’ Cultural Education Society has been working for seventy years and their work is divided into a dozen different sections, from drama to dances, singing, folklore… As well as teaching Slovenian language and culture. After many years of stagnation, the Folklore Group started working again in 2007 and now continues the tradition of Slovenian dances and dances from Croatia.

The group now has 24 members and is led by Natasa Grlica with the musical accompaniment of Ivan Simić on accordion and Ivan Hareja on double bass.
