The positive trend of increase in tourist figures in the area of Konavle Municipality continued in August. There were 130,107 overnight stays or 6% more than in the same month last year.
In the first eight months the number of tourist arrivals increased for 8% compared to the same period last year, while the number of overnight stays grew for 11%. The largest increase in overnight stays, 22%, is in private accommodation, and hotels recorded the 10% rise.
The largest share of overall overnight stay in hotels amounts to 71%, in private accommodation it is 26% and 3% in camping sites in Konavle area.
UK tourists with 93,000 overnight stays, which is an increase of 67% compared to the first eight months of 2011, are the most represented ones in Konavle Municipality, followed by French, Russians, Germans, Belgians, Norwegians, Swedes and Spanish.
