Within the National Tourism Development Program, the Municipality of Konavle started with the construction work in Tiha Bay, one on the most beautiful and most popular bays in Cavtat. Following the competition for the development of the public tourist infrastructure, the Municipality of Konavle got 445 thousand Kunas from the Ministry of Tourism for the decoration of Tiha.
The basic idea of the intervention is to articulate the existing bathing area by new tiling and to set the necessary accompanying contents (storage, male and female sanitary block, sanitary block for persons with reduced mobility, dressing rooms, showers …) while preserving existing valuable greenery.
Among other things, an important intervention for the beach will be the redefinition of existing pedestrian approaches that are now inadequate, in particular addressing the access ramps for people with reduced mobility in the western part of the area.
The design solution maximizes the existing high-grade tree-lined cypresses in the entrance, area, while the existing palm trees will create so called palm garden with new ones. A tamaris garden is planned in the southwest area, and many more other plants will be planted as well.
