Two Nights for Tereza Kesovija in Dubrovnik: A Hometown Farewell at the Rector’s Palace

Dubrovnik will have not one, but two evenings with Tereza Kesovija this June. Due to exceptional public interest, the City of Dubrovnik and the Dubrovnik Summer Festival have announced an additional concert by the legendary Croatian singer, giving more fans a chance to hear her once again in her hometown.

The first concert, scheduled for Saturday, June 13, sold out in record time. The newly announced second concert will take place on Sunday, June 14, also at 9 pm, in the atmospheric setting of the Rector’s Palace.

After Split, Dubrovnik Takes Its Place in Her Farewell Story

Tereza Kesovija recently said goodbye to the Split audience with an emotional concert at Stari plac, a city that has followed her since the early days of her career. Now the farewell journey continues in Dubrovnik, the city where she was born and to which her voice, her story and her public image have always remained deeply connected.

For the Dubrovnik audience, these concerts carry a special meaning. They are not simply another date in a long career, but part of a farewell mini tour marking more than six decades of music, memory and stage presence.

After Dubrovnik, Tereza’s farewell path is expected to continue with concerts in Ljubljana and Zagreb. The Zagreb concert, planned for October, is expected to be the final one, closing the circle of an extraordinary career on the occasion of her 88th birthday.

A Special Return to Her Hometown

For Dubrovnik audiences, Tereza Kesovija is much more than a celebrated singer. She is one of the city’s most recognisable artistic voices, a performer whose career has connected Dubrovnik with some of the most important stages in Croatia, Europe and beyond.

Her return to the Rector’s Palace carries particular emotional weight. The venue, one of Dubrovnik’s most prestigious cultural spaces, was reportedly Tereza’s personal wish, adding another intimate note to these long-awaited concerts.

Tickets for the Second Concert

Tickets for the additional concert go on sale on Thursday, May 28, at 1 pm. They will be available online through ulaznice.hr and in local sales at the Festival Palace and KIC Luža.

Ticket prices are 30, 40 and 50 euros. The capacity of the Rector’s Palace for each concert is 465 places, including 265 seated and 200 standing spots.

One of Dubrovnik’s Great Voices

Tereza Kesovija’s career spans more than six decades, marked by powerful interpretations, a distinctive stage presence and a voice that has become part of Croatia’s musical memory. From Dubrovnik to Paris and from major concert halls to intimate hometown stages, her songs have followed generations.

This June, the Rector’s Palace will become the setting for two evenings dedicated to that remarkable journey. For many in Dubrovnik, they will be more than concerts. They will be a chance to greet their Tereza once again, in the city where her story began.
