Following three years of intensive restoration Summer Villa Bunic Kaboga is back to its former glory. The renovated summer residence is one of the twenty most valuable cultural monuments in Croatia and Dubrovnik countryside architecture of the 16th century. Bunic Kaboga is located on the bank of the Rijeka Dubrovacka. The summer residence built in the Gothic-renaissance style includes a porch, balcony, chapel and terraced gardens.
The reconstruction project worth around 3 million Euros, came about following research by art historian Dr. Nada Gruhic. The Croatian Conservation Institute engaged in all phases of the conservation and restoration work on the wall paintings and stone sculptures helping to return the summer villa to its former glory.
Croatian Culture Minister, Andrea Zlatar Violic attended the official presentation along with Dubrovnik Mayor, Andro Vlahusic. The villa which is co-owned by the Croatian Ministry of Culture, the City of Dubrovnik and Croatian Restoration Institute and will become a cultural centre.
