[Video & Photo Gallery] Pelješac Bridge Opening: The Grand Ceremony

Today, the City of Dubrovnik and Dubrovnik Neretva County mark the opening of the new Pelješac Bridge – Pelješki most – turning a completely new page in the history of our homeland.

The morning part of the program was held today at Brijesta while in the evening an appropriate programme continued.

The bridge opening programme started @ 8 am where around 150 performers from Dubrovnik participated – dance groups, folklore ensembles, bands, vocal groups (klapa), orchestras… At 9 am DUMotion race with 250 runners took place.

On the side of the Brijesta rest area, the bridge was opened from 10 am for all citizens and visitors who want to walk on it, but only to the first pylon.

Late night ceremony was concluded with ‘Himna slobodi’, one of the most important songs ever written in the history of Croatia. The fireworks rounded this spectacular one-day event.

The direct monitoring was held from Stradun, too, where many enjoyed the opening ceremony via direct monitoring and live broadcast. DJ Milo Kravarević and Klapa Subrenum peformed as an intro to the live broadcasting.
