Wanderlust Has Decided: Dubrovnik and Croatia are in the Top 10 Most Desirable Destinations

Wanderlust, the extremely popular British travel magazine, had once more organized the prestigious Wanderlust Travel Awards ceremony that was held in London as part of the World Travel Market (WTM) and Croatia has many reasons to celebrate. Our country is included in the list of top 10 countries in the category of most desirable nearby destinations, while Dubrovnik is on the list of top 10 most desirable nearby cities.

All decisions were based on the votes of an independent and expert council, including the votes of Wanderlust readers. The awards were presented in the beautiful and elegant ambiance of Kensington Palace, with Darija Reić, director of the CNTB Representation in Great Britain, accepting the awards for Croatia.

Croatia took an excellent 6th place in the category of the most desirable closer destinations led by France, Italy, Iceland, Greece, and Spain, leaving Portugal, Georgia, Norway, and Austria behind. Dubrovnik, on the other hand, took an excellent 5th place in the category of the most desirable nearby cities, led by Lisbon, Seville, Tbilisi, and Marrakech.

“We are extremely glad that Dubrovnik and Croatia have once again been recognized as the most desirable destinations. The British market is our most important emitting market, whose tourists are traditionally at the top of the list of the most numerous visitors in Dubrovnik, ” said Ana Hrnić, director of the Dubrovnik Tourist Board.

The lists of all selected destinations in the existing 11 categories are available here.
