Dubrovnik FestiWine was launched in 2014 as a regional wine festival of Dubrovnik-Neretva County. Its main purpose during the formative years was exclusively the promotion of top quality wines produced from the centuries-old autochthonous grape varieties of Dubrovnik-Neretva County. This year, the festival will take place all aorund the county from 16th to 23rd March – here’s the full programme.
The wines, which are now globally recognized by the oenologists, researchers, promoters and wine connoisseurs alike, have become the main symbols of the city’s tourism. Following a successful period of repositioning and promoting local wines of Dubrovnik-Neretva County, Dubrovnik FestiWine extended their invitation to other Croatian and international winemakers. Every year at the beginning of spring, Dubrovnik hosts a top wine spectacle, which gathers the finest winemakers, sommeliers, enologists and wine promoters from Croatia and Europe.
The central event of the international wine festival is the “Wine Exhibition”, where numerous Croatian and European winemakers present their best products to the satisfaction of many wine lovers, who traditionally visit Dubrovnik and FestiWine in March. In addition to the Wine Exhibition, which attracts a large number of fine wine lovers and gourmets, the FestiWine also guarantees a rich off-program, which includes, among others, the “FestiWine Gala” dinner prepared by a renowned team of chefs and sommeliers, Blind Date with Ston Oyster, workshops and lectures held by food and wine professionals, as well as many other events that attract the attention of a large number of wine lovers every year.
