On Kantafig, away from the busiest tourist routes but very much part of everyday Dubrovnik life, Diverso has grown into one of those local addresses people return to when they want something casual, fresh and full of flavour.
Behind the story are the Avidić brothers, Enes and Denis, who built Diverso step by step, through long days, trial and error, and a clear idea of what they wanted to offer Dubrovnik: modern street food made with care, consistency and character.
This season, their story is entering a new chapter. Diverso has introduced its largest menu expansion so far, bringing around fifteen new dishes to a concept that has already found its loyal audience in the city.
New Smash Burgers, Tortillas and Kebab
The new menu keeps the heart of Diverso where it has always been, in bold flavours, freshly prepared food and dishes made without unnecessary complication.
Among the new additions are several smash burger combinations, including Smash Truffle, Smash Mexico and Smash Guacamole. The idea is not simply to add more items to the menu, but to give regular guests something new to discover while staying true to the Diverso style.
The tortilla offer has also been expanded. Alongside the chicken version, guests can now choose tortillas with beef, while a new kebab has also joined the menu.
Fresh Ingredients and Homemade Sauces
For Enes and Denis Avidić, details matter. The meat arrives fresh each morning directly from the butcher, while the sauces are prepared in house. That commitment to preparation has become one of the signatures of Diverso.
The kebab follows the same approach. One chicken kebab is prepared fresh each day and, once it sells out, a new one is made the following morning. It is a simple philosophy, but one that says a lot about the way the brothers work.
At Diverso, the burger is never just meat and bread. It is about balance, texture, sauces, freshness and consistency. It is also about understanding that a good street food place does not survive on hype alone. It survives because people come back.
A Place Locals Have Accepted
From the beginning, Diverso wanted to be more than a passing trend. The Avidić brothers wanted to create a place where Dubrovnik locals would return, not just visit once out of curiosity.
That seems to be exactly what happened. Located on Kantafig, Diverso has become a familiar choice for burgers, tortillas and kebab, while delivery has also grown steadily. For Enes and Denis, that local recognition remains one of the most important confirmations that they are on the right path.
Diverso also continues to offer a 20 percent discount for local guests, whether they order delivery or visit the venue. Orders made by phone for delivery also include a complimentary Coca-Cola.
Recognition Beyond Dubrovnik
An important moment for the Diverso team came at the Burger Festival in Zagreb, where their Smash Diverso Onion burger won fourth place among 50 burgers from across Croatia.
For a Dubrovnik street food team from Kantafig, that result was more than a ranking. It was a sign that their work could stand alongside some of the best in the country. It gave them confidence, but it also confirmed something they already believed: that effort, persistence and attention to detail do make a difference.
Three Years of Mistakes, Lessons and Persistence
The Diverso story is not only about food. It is also about people, teamwork and the willingness to keep going even when things are difficult.
The Avidić brothers openly admit that the past three years have brought mistakes as well as victories. They learned about business, about guests, about their team and about themselves. What they never lacked was persistence.
That persistence can now be felt in the food, in the atmosphere and in the way Diverso continues to grow. It remains loyal to the idea it started with, to give Dubrovnik modern, honest and quality street food that feels local, relaxed and made with heart.
Three years later, Diverso is still learning, still expanding and still proving that a good street food story is built one day, one detail and one bite at a time.
