The City of Dubrovnik has urged residents and visitors not to throw coins, stones or other objects into the fountain in Pile Park.
According to the City, such behaviour can damage the fountain, affect its proper functioning and create additional maintenance work for municipal services.
The City has asked the public to treat the area with care and help preserve one of the busiest public spaces at the western entrance to the historic centre.
The appeal comes as Dubrovnik enters the busy tourist season, when public areas around Pile see heavy daily foot traffic.
