Dubrovnik Goes Dark For Earth Hour

Dubrovnik, along with other Croatian cities and many others around the world was plunged in to darkness as part of the largest ecological volunteer action in the world – Earth Hour. For one hour the city walls and Stradun were in darkness like many other famous monuments and places.

To mark Earth Hour people all over the world turn off their lights for one hour to highlight the dangers of climate change, This year Croatian Environment Minister Mihael Zmajlovic joined the initiative recording an advert appealing to City Councils asking them to make biodegradable bins available to their citizens. If at least five cities meet his request then the Minister will personally cook lunch for the waste disposal team of one city.
